Parkway Dental General Dentistry in Snellville, GA
Our team at Parkway Dental offers a variety of general dentistry services so that we can meet all of your dental needs. Below are just some of the things we do as a part of general dentistry to treat your existing problems and help prevent new ones from occurring.
Your First Cleaning and Exam
Your first visit to our office will include a bit of testing and a very low level of stress. When you first arrive at our office, you will be greeted by a friendly face and given a tour of our office. To expedite the check-in process, download our new patient forms here. You will then be guided to an operatory in order to go over your medical history and have X-rays taken. We will do an initial clinical assessment and you will get to meet the doctor.
When you meet the doctor, you will have the opportunity to get to know each other and talk about your goals. The doctor will perform some additional examinations to look at your jaw joint, gums, and teeth. This is a great time to ask any questions you may have. You can also build out a treatment plan together, if necessary.
We will also do a routine dental cleaning and talk about what you should be eating and doing in order to protect your dental health. Our goal is to identify any issues you may have so they can be treated and to help you prevent future problems from occurring. We work hard to make your experience at our office a pleasant one as well as provide you with the top-notch care you deserve.
Fluoride Treatments and Varnishes
Fluoride can help to strengthen your tooth enamel. Our office offers fluoride treatments and varnishes in order to help prevent cavities and other decay. If you are prone to cavities, our fluoride treatments might be right for you. These treatments are great for children and people of all ages.
Dry Mouth Treatment
If you have a dry mouth, our team at Parkway Dental can help. We understand that this can be an annoying and potentially embarrassing condition. Usually we will recommend an over-the-counter rinse to help balance your mouth. Regardless of the situation, we can help set you on the right path to a more comfortable mouth.
Halitosis/Bad Breath Treatment
Do you have chronic bad breath? If you have bad breath that just won’t go away, it probably isn’t being caused by something you ate. The typical culprit of chronic bad breath is bacteria, and it may be a symptom of gum disease. We can help treat any gum disease that is present as well as coach you on how to avoid it in the future.
Nonsurgical Gum Disease Treatment
If you are experiencing signs of gum disease, we can help. We offer scaling and root planing, or deep cleaning, to remove any buildup underneath your gums. We can also provide special medications and rinses. Laser therapy is also an option for cleaning out periodontal pockets. Talk to your hygienist about which treatment options are right for you.
Athletic Mouthguards
Do you or your child play sports? We can help you prevent a dental injury by crafting you an athletic mouthguard. These guards are designed to be worn during play and can be made in your favorite team colors and logos.
You can get your athletic mouthguard in just two easy visits to our office. The first visit takes only about 15 minutes in order to get the specifications for the guard. The second visit takes only about 7 minutes.
We can also use mouthguards to protect your teeth against bruxism (teeth grinding) and to help prevent snoring. Talk to one of our doctors about how our mouthguards can help you.
