Find Out If Veneers Are Right For You
Darn! You chipped a nail and you are planning to attend a wedding in a few days.
Thankfully, there is a quick fix. You can have fake fingernails applied to your fingers. That should last long enough to get through the weekend.
What if you could do something similar, but for your teeth? And what if instead of lasting for a few days or weeks, they lasted for decades?
Would you be interested in something like that? If you are, we have good news.
This smile-improving service is one of the many kinds of cosmetic dentistry that you can get at Parkway Dental. Our dentists are happy to help patients in Snellville, GA, in Lawrenceville, and anywhere in between.
They are called veneers, and they may be the perfect solution if you are looking to improve your smile fast.
The Many Benefits Of Veneers
Veneers cannot fix every single possible problem that you may have with your smile. However, they can fix a number problems and possibly more problems than any of our other cosmetic services. Veneers have restorative benefits as well, as you shall see.
Here are some of the ways veneers could help you:
★ Straighter teeth
Crooked teeth are a common concern for many people. Not everyone gets braces when they are teenagers, and you may be an adult who would like to change the alignment of your smile.
Adult orthodontic treatments are always an option, but they can take years to complete. With veneers, you can change your smile in less than a month. Veneers can be designed to give you the appearance of teeth that are perfectly straight.
★ Evenly spaced teeth
Spacing can be an issue for a couple reasons. Your teeth may be crowded together, which may cause some of them to turn at unusual angles to fit in your mouth. You also may have too much space between some of your teeth.
Either issue could make you self-conscious about your smile. With veneers, you can look like you have set of evenly spaced and parallel teeth.
★ White teeth
Stained, yellow, or dark teeth can be distracting. They can make you want to hide your smile from other people. You could consider teeth whitening, which works great if you need to remove stains from your teeth.
Or you can use veneers to cover those stains and to hide teeth that are discolored for other reasons.
★ Whole teeth
What do we mean by whole teeth? We mean teeth that are not chipped. Teeth that are not broken. Teeth that are not worn down. Teeth that look complete.
Veneers can be used to restore your teeth to their original, unbroken appearance.
★ Fix It All
This may be the best reason to consider veneers. If you have two or more of the issues mentioned above, veneers could be used to address all of them simultaneously.
You don’t need to get your teeth whitening, wear braces, and use dental bonding to fix chipped teeth. You can get veneers and fix all your issues at one time.
The Process Of Getting Veneers
Now, we want to be clear that getting veneers isn’t exactly the same as getting fake fingernails. You can’t just walk into our office and have veneers bonded to your teeth.
The process involves a couple visits to our office.
As long as you are a good candidate for veneers, we will make an impression of your teeth.
If you get Lumineers, we may not need to do anything before making this impression. These veneers are so thin that they won’t add any noticeable size to your teeth.
With other veneers, we may need to remove a small portion of the enamel from the front of your teeth before making your impressions. This is so your teeth remain around the same size after the veneers are bonded in place.
A dental laboratory with craft a set of veneers that are custom-made to fit on your teeth. It may take a few weeks before they are ready. Once they are, you will return to our office, and we can bond them to your teeth.
You may be surprised just how different your smile can look when your veneers are bonded in place.
Then, all you need to do is maintain your veneers with proper oral care so they will last as long as possible.
